Learn practical, clinically sound ways to choose lower-impact OTCs for pain, heartburn, and supplements, and to counsel on safe disposal—with cases across family medicine, pharmacy, and inpatient care.

Learning objectives:

Plan one concrete practice change in your setting (e.g., shelf tag, default form/pack, take-back signage) and define a simple metric to track its impact.

Select clinically appropriate, lower-impact OTC options for common conditions (e.g., pain/fever, heartburn, supplements) and identify when not to recommend an OTC product.

Deliver a 30-second counselling script covering safe use, pack size/form selection, and proper disposal (return-to-pharmacy; never flush).
