Reports
The Global EV Outlook is an annual publication that identifies and discusses recent developments in electric mobility across the globe. It is developed with the support of the members of the Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI). Combining historical analysis with projections to 2030, the report examines key areas of interest such as electric vehicle (EV) and charging infrastructure deployment, energy use, CO2 emissions and battery demand.
This briefing provides an update on the 25 largest electric passenger vehicle markets worldwide. Researchers analyze electric vehicle uptake, charging infrastructure development, electrification goals, planning, and incentives to draw lessons to assist local governments in their transition to electric mobility. Read the full report HERE.
The Electric Vehicle Outlook is BloombergNEF’s annual long-term publication looking at how electrification, shared mobility and autonomous driving will impact road transport from now out to 2050. The report draws on a team of specialists around the world and looks at scenarios for how these trends will impact the automotive, energy, infrastructure and battery materials markets over the coming decades.
This paper compares the financial costs of building electric vehicle charging infrastructure using empirical data with health costs to see if there is a net benefit. They have found that in the majority of plausible scenarios of balanced growth, when the number of vehicles rises and so does the number of charging stations, there is a positive net benefit to society. Electric-mobility may be a key component in a successful transition toward deep greenhouse reductions. However, widespread uptake and use of plugin electric vehicles will involve meaningful shifts in social and technical systems. This report considers the potential market for plug-in electric vehicles in Canada’s passenger vehicle sector and investigates how consumer interests may guide such shifts. Read the full report HERE.

Five things you know about electric vehicles that aren’t exactly true
ICCT answers questions and concerns about EVs that persist in the minds of some consumers, especially concerning convenience, cost, and real environmental impact. Often these concerns are rooted in misconceptions. This card stack takes a look at some of those cases.
How much does an electric vehicle cost? Things you should know before buying
You’re in the market for a car and want to do your part for the planet by buying an electric vehicle. But you’ve never bought an electric vehicle before, so you don’t know what’s involved in the process, what the costs are, and how to decide between all the options. Don’t worry! ScotiaAdvice breaks down everything you need to know.
Should Hospitals Add Electric Vehicle Charging Stations?
Electric vehicles are slowly settling into mainstream consciousness. They serve as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. Full electric vehicles are at a slower adoption rate, however, options like hybrid models are bridging that initial gap. As their use continues to grow, hospitals may opt to include charging stations on their property. Read more.
Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles Program (iZEV)
In order to encourage the adoption of ZEVs by Canadians and Canadian businesses, the Government of Canada launched the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program in May 2019 and is continuing until March 31, 2025 (or until available funding is exhausted). There are many different makes and models of eligible zero-emission vehicles for purchase or lease that provide consumers with iZEV Program incentives of up to $5,000.
Plug N’ Drive used EV incentives
Plug’n Drive, in collaboration with Clean Air Partnership, and made possible thanks to the support of the M. H. Brigham Foundation presents the Used Electric Vehicle and Scrappage Incentive programs. The Used EV Incentive program provides $1,000 toward the purchase of a used fully electric car. The Scrappage Incentive provides an additional $1,000 toward your used EV purchase if you also scrap your old gas car.
CleanBC’s EV Charger Rebate Program
To assist with the transition to lower carbon transportation options like electric vehicles (EVs), the province of British Columbia is working with BC Hydro and Fortis BC the EV Charger Rebate Program in B.C. for the purchase and installation of Level 2 EV charging stations through the CleanBC program. Rebates are available for workplaces, condos and apartments.
The Québec government is offering individuals, businesses, organisation and Québec municipalities a rebate on the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle. Check out the eligible vehicles for rebates to determine the exact amount of the rebate for the vehicle models you are interested in. There are also rebates for the installation of home and work charging stations.

Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program
The Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) is a $680 million initiative ending in 2027 and its objective is to address the lack of charging and refuelling stations in Canada; one of the key barriers to ZEV adoption, by increasing the availability of localized charging and hydrogen refuelling opportunities where Canadians live, work, and play.
Indigenous Clean Energy’s (ICE) Charge Up program is set to power the national Indigenous electric highway! Through the program, ICE will cover 50% of electric vehicle charging station installation costs for Indigenous communities and businesses. All Indigenous communities/ organizations are invited to apply.
Electric Vehicle Station Fund
The EV Station Fund provided by The Atmospheric Fund aims to evenly distribute EVs and charging stations in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, by providing rebates of up to 50% for your EV charging station installation cost.
ChargeHub is a daily updated map of all EV charging infrastructure in the world. Plugshare and Plug’n Drive have similar maps to help you find the EV infrastructure available in your area.
EVHype also has an interactive map for EV Charging Stations locations in the US and Canada. They help EV owners find, use, and rate EV charging stations near them.
